Bio

When I arrived at James Madison University in the fall of 2007, I immediately got involved with Aletheia Church. After a month of attending Aletheia and getting to know Pastor Aaron Proffitt (AP), he gave me a key to the building and told me to put a band together for the Wednesday Night worship service. In a new town, hardly knowing anyone, I had no idea what to do. But God brought the people that He wanted and we started a band for Wednesday nights. It wasn’t much, but we watched the Lord turn it into what He desired it to be.

Fast forward to 2009. AP tells me that he’s moving to Tampa to start another Aletheia, and asks me to take over the worship ministry on Sunday mornings. At first, I simply said, “No way.” He didn’t expect that response at all. I love hearing him talk about it because he’ll say, “Dude, I definitely thought you were gonna be stoked, but you just threw it back in my face!” But, it didn’t take me long to change my mind. My dream for college was to be on the road with a band every weekend, but it took me a little while to realize the huge open door that the Lord had given me.

I have the greatest job in the world. I get to play rock music that glorifies God with some amazing dudes, and we get to do ministry every day with a family of believers that I love to death. The Lord has taught me so much in these past few years since being here at Aletheia, and I am so excited about what He has to come.

Along with serving at Aletheia, I also lead a band called The Beautiful Refrain. For more information about the band, check out the band page here on the blog or head over to www.thebeautifulrefrain.com
